We're researching the Theyers family from the Cam and Dursley areas of central Gloucestershire, including the branches of the family who emigrated to Australia and New Zealand in 1858. We 've  traced the family back to Coaley in Gloucestershire in the late 17th century. A listing of the descendants   of William Theyer of Coaley covering the period 1690 to 1910 is now available.  We have yet to find an instance of the current spelling of our name (THEYERS) that cannot be traced back to this common ancestor (the 's' was added in the early 19th century). Included in the listing are notes on the life of William Theyers (b1830) of Cam Gloucestershire and Alexandra Otago. Other detail will appear on these pages in the coming months.
